Biomedical Big Data Resource Center

Welcome

Welcome

Welcome to the Biomedical Big Data Resource Center!

This a resource page that will provide a basic understanding and overview of tools and resources that one should become familiar with in regards to collecting and analyzing complex biological data.

This resource is a living document and will be continued to be curated by the Bioscience Librarian with the assistance of graduate students, Post Docs, faculty and researchers at the University of Texas at Austin.

About

The curation of this resource Guide was created as a deliverable from the UT's Office of the Vice President for Research Pop-Up Institute initiatives.  The related Pop-Up Institute,  Seeing the Tree in the Forest: Understanding Individual and Population Variation in Biology, Medicine, and Society, brought together expert from UT Austin's College of Natural Sciences, College of Liberal Arts, and Dell Medical School to:

  1. Identify the most promising questions about individual and population variation,
  2. Establish a unique and comprehensive research plan, and
  3. Develop solutions to shared problems that limit progress (e.g. Big Data analysis).
