Sharing Links to Articles

Best Practice for Sharing Articles

SHARING FROM PUBMED

To share articles that you found via PubMed, all you really need to do is share the URL to the PubMed record:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23974763

The link will take you to a page like the one below, where you can use the FIND IT@UT tool to get to the full-text, thus allowing for accurate usage statistics on this journal and copyright compliance.

SHARING FROM CINAHL, MEDLINE, OR OTHER EBSCO DATABASES

1) Click the article title link to view the database record.
2) Click Permalink in the right-hand sidebar.
3) Copy and paste the Permalink URL from the box.

SHARING FROM WEB OF SCIENCE

This one is a bit more cumbersome.

1) Click the article title link to view the database record.
2) Copy and paste the Web of Science Accession Number (highlighted below)…

3) Have the recipient to do an Accession Number search in the Web of Science database.
