Find Articles

Get Ready to Search

Searching library databases doesn't work like a Google search.  Take a few minutes to brainstorm search terms before searching to find what you need.

1.  Write down your topic (ex: genetically modified food as a solution to world hunger is controversial)

2.  Break it into key terms (ex: genetically modified food; world hunger)

3. Brainstorm other terms (synonyms, broader or narrower terms)

Ex:  genetically modified food, genetically engineering food, gmos; world hunger, starvation

4. Connect using AND and OR

genetically modified food AND world hunger = AND requires all terms so you get a smaller set of resutls

genetically modified food OR GMOs AND world hunger OR stavaration = OR looks for either term so you get a larger set of results

Where is the Article?

If you don’t see a .pdf of the article you want, click Find it to find it in another database or in print in the Libraries.

If it is only in print in the Libraries or we don’t own the article, click Get scan to have the article emailed to you. This option will take a few days.

Use the Bibliography
