UGS 302 - Digital Media Technology and Learning - Liu

Welcome

Class 2

All of the sources we'll discuss are on the theme of tablets in the classroom.

As you are thinking about these sources, you can use Google to find out more information about them. Also, remember the questions you brainstormed and we discussed at the beginning of class.

1. Source 1 - take a couple of minutes to open the source, read the abstract, look at the research questions and methodology. You won't be able to read all of this source, but you can scroll and skim the rest to notice important characteristics.

Think about:

What type of source is this?

What did the authors do to gather evidence for their source?

Is this type of source a good source of evidence for your research? Why?

If your topic were about tablets in the classroom, would you use this source? Why or why not?

We'll discuss this source together.

If we're still on source 1, you don't have to do this yet.

2. Sources 2 and 3 - take a couple of minutes to look at these sources, you won't be able to read all of them, but you can skim and notice important characteristics.

Think about:

What types of sources are these? What do they have in common? What is different?

Is this type of source a good source of evidence for your research? Why?

We'll discuss these sources together.

If we're still on sources 2 and 3, you don't have to look at this one yet.
