Web Mapping with Carto

for Data and Donuts

Data

You're collecting data!

Making a basic map is surprisingly easy. The data collection is the most important and challenging part of the process. There are many factors involved, such as, what you are mapping and the size of the region you are mapping. Think about all of this as you begin to look for data, but be mindful that when doing historic research the information available to you often dictates the type of data you can collect. There aren't always going to be tidy street addresses for an area you'd like to add to your map.
