The PhD curriculum prepares you for academic life by developing research and writing skills. Doctoral students also generally secure at least one term of teaching experience. This guide is designed with an objective to provide you with some introductory resources that you will use throughout the doctoral program.

Created by Georgia Harper and currently maintained by UT Libraries, the course is arranged into several sections that allow users to explore certain areas of copyright law individually or as a group. The course was originally created with faculty in mind, but can be used by anyone who is interested in understanding and managing their copyrights.

The PCL Data Lab is located in the Scholars Commons on the entry level of the PCL and includes software such as:

  • Nvivo- analyze qualitative data
  • OpenRefine- clean and manipulate data 
  • Photoscan- create 3D models from 2D images 
  • R- open source software package for data analysis and visualization 
  • Stata MP- statistical package for data management, analysis, and graphics
  • Tableau- create interactive visualizations and information dashboards
