Save Money with the UT Libraries

Guide for both faculty and students to use resources already available to them to save on textbook and other course material expenses.

Journal Articles

Link to an Article

Linking to an article in your course page is an easy way to save students money on purchasing resources.

1. Find the article you want through scoUT.

2. Click Preview, which will expand to offer a Permanent Link, which you can then use to copy and paste the URL into your course page. This is the preferred method and will always link your students to the scoUT record where they can easily click to get to the full text.

Link to a Journal

It is also possible to link to a full journal rather than a single article.

  1. Choose scoUT's advanced search, check "Journal/eJournal" in the Show Content Type box, and "Items Available Online" in the Show Only box.
  2. Click “Preview” below the journal you would like to link to.
  3. Click “Permanent Link” and copy and paste the URL into your course page.
