Assistive Technology Workstations

PCL has two computers with assistive technology. The second (main) floor computer lab (PCL 2.200) has an assistive technology station set up just to the left as you enter the lab. This station is available whenever the building is open. At this station, you wil find:

Ask at the front desk for a key to the Assistive Technology Suite on the fourth floor, PCL 4.104, during regular hours.

This room provides a distraction-free, accessible space for current UT students, faculty and staff on a first come, first served basis.

The suite includes:

  • ADA compliant desk for wheelchair accessibility
  • Dell OptiPlex 760 running Intel Core 2 Duo Processor (3.00 GHz) 
  • Flat panel monitor
  • Epson Color scanner
  • ABBYY FineReader Software for OCR
  • Duxbury Braille Translator
  • JAWS Screen Reader 10.0
  • ‚ÄčWinBraille Translator
  • ZoomText Screen Magnifier 9.1
  • TextAloud MP3 text reader/MP3 creator
