• Search issues of The Rag, part of the Campus Undergroud collection in the Independent Voices database.

Austin Chronicle - independent Austin newspaper

• Use the search on their site (www.auschron.com) to search back to 2011.
• Search and browse their news archives back to 1995

Texas Observer  -  "progressive, non-profit news outlet" covering Texas

• Use the search on their site to search issues back to 1954. You may have to regiser for a free account. 
• Especially good for state-level and legislative topics

If you already know the title, etc. of an article and want to find it, use the search box on the Libraries home page. If it is a newspaper, after you get results, scroll to the bottom of the first page and click on "Newspapers Search" since news articles don't show up in the main search.

Step 1: Paste the title into the Libraries search box

Step 2: Scroll to the bottom of the search results page and click on Newspapers Search

Step 3: Rerun your search to find the article.
