Assignment-specific Help

Due Oct 13: Making 3 Changes to Wikipedia

You have to make at least 3 changes to Wikipedia and turn in a screenshot of your contributions page on October 13.

Things to know:

  • Suggested articles for editing will appear on your main Wikipedia account page
  • "Easy" options include copy editing, which can be anything from fixing grammar or spelling to rewriting parts of an article for tone/neutrality; and adding links. "Medium" options include adding additional information to a page, and adding sources.
  • There are lots of edits you can make so click through until you find something you want to do. Sometimes pages will be suggested that someone already fixed so just ignore those.
  • You may make 3 changes to 1 article or 1 change to 3 different articles. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you publish after each change - otherwise, if you make 3 changes to an article and only publish after the 3rd change, it will appear in your contributions page as one change.

Want to add sources? Start by searching for your topic on the Web or in the Libraries search box.
