Using Secondary Sources


Secondary sources help contextualize and explain primary sources.  They also frequently have helpful bibliographies that point you toward other related resources that might advance your research.  

Most secondary sources used in academic writing come from books (see left) and articles (see left) but could also be in websites, blog posts, and so on.
