Texas Public Information Act (TPIA)
The TPIA allows for citizens to access government records held by public agencies. Information granted by TPIA is circulated but may not be readily available to the public.
While FOIA requests are open to the general public, TPIA requests are only available to citizens. TPIA can often release information faster, since the documentation is already circulated.
For more information go to the Texas Public Information Act.
