Faculty Research: Fifth Floor Display by Texas Libraries
The Hamilton Book Awards are prestigious honors that recognize the exceptional scholarly and creative works published by the university's faculty and staff. Established in 1998 and named in honor of Robert W. Hamilton, a former UT Law professor and chair of the University Co-op board, the awards celebrate a diverse range of disciplines, including the sciences, humanities, arts, and business. Each year, up to four awards are presented: one grand prize of $10,000 and three finalist awards of $3,000 each. The awards are co-sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Research, Scholarship and Creative Endeavors and the University Co-operative Society. The selection process involves a rigorous review by a committee of scholars from various disciplines, ensuring that the awards honor the breadth and depth of intellectual achievement within the UT Austin community.
