No matter what you are looking at and where you found it, it is important to question the authority of the author and publication:
- Who wrote this and is he or she an expert? How do you know they are an expert?
- Where was this published and what is the reputation of this publication? Does it carry a specific viewpoint shared by its subscribers? Who is the audience for this publication?
- Who paid for this source to be published? Who funded the research being done?
- Is the information presented current enough for your purposes?
