Searching for Auction Catalogs

Sotheby’s Catalogues

Christie’s Catalogues

Searching for Auction Catalogs generally?

Use the subject search option in the library catalog to search broadly across our collections. Examples of subject terminology:

  •                 Art Auction
  •                 Auction Catalogs
  •                 Antique Catalogs

Requesting an Item

Most of these collections are stored offsite in our Library Storage Facilities (LSF) or Joint Library Storage (JLF). If you are looking at a record and see LSF listed, you will be able to select the “Pick It Up” button to request the item be sent to your UT library of choice. If a record says it is in JLF, you will need to "Get a Scan" through interlibrary loan. Find out more about the "Get a Scan" process here.

Certain collections like our Sotheby’s and Christie’s auction catalogs have material stored in both LSF and JLF. If you have further questions about requesting a catalog for use, please email the visual arts librarian in the profile box to the right of the guide.

Interlibrary Loan

If we don't have a title you need, don't hesitate to use our Interlibrary Loan service. It's free for current students, faculty, and staff to request materials from affiliated libraries. Please allow 5+ days for physical materials to arrive and about 24-48 hours for articles.
