Library Updates for January 2022

To help reduce campus density and manage essential and safe staffing levels and services, UT Libraries has shifted back to a mostly online and limited delivery model of services at least through January 30, 2022.

  • The main entry-level floor of the Perry-Castañeda Library (PCL) is open with limited hours through January 18. Please check our Hours page before planning a visit. The PCL entry-level will be open 24/7 for study when classes begin on January 18, and the Check Out Desk will operate with normal semester hours.
  • The stacks on Floors 3-6 are currently closed, and all other UT Libraries branch locations are closed through January 30.
  • About 40% of our print collections are available temporarily as ebooks through the HathiTrust digital library. Look for links in library catalog records to access these ebooks, and see this tutorial on how to use the HathiTrust.
  • To check out books not duplicated in the HathiTrust, please use our Pick It Up service. The PCL is the only library location open for book pick up.
  • We expect no interruptions to the Get A Scan and Interlibrary Loan services. ILS print loans will be available for pick up at the PCL Check Out Desk.
  • For further information on current library services and policies, please see this information guide, updated daily.
