Citing Sources

Cite button: PubMed

If you need to cite an article you found in PubMed, follow these steps:
1. Search for the article in PubMed and open the article record. 
2. Find this CIte button on the right side of the page:

3. Click the Cite button to select a citation style. See options below.
4. Then click Copy and paste the citation in your reference list.

*Double check the accuracy of autogenerated citations.
To do this, consult one of the resources listed in the box below and find the information for the citation style you selected.

Citation Managers

Citation managers can help save time in the long run by using plugins to cite web sources and generating reference lists, but it takes time to learn how to use them and set them up.

To get back to an article in PubMed:
Click on the chainlink icon under Share in the article record.

Copy the permalink and save it someplace you'll remember.
