Course Materials Support for Faculty and Instructors

Course Materials Requests

In lieu of physical reserves, the UT Libraries is providing electronic copies of Libraries materials essential to courses where possible. For more information and to place a request, see the Course Materials Requests page.

Media Services

The UT Libraries subscribes to streaming media resources you may use for your course. In addition, we have an extensive collection of DVDs and CDs any user may request through Pick it Up in the Library Catalog.  If you require online access to a DVD we only have in physical form, please submit a Course Materials Request and we will investigate purchasing streaming access or reformatting it for streaming access for a specific course.

Transitioning to Free or Low-Cost Digital Course Materials

Many instructors are taking this moment to transition required course materials from traditional textbooks to free or low-cost digital resources. One option includes open educational resources (OER), which come with open licenses and allow instructors to customize the content to best fit their course and pedagogical needs. Additionally, some instructors are leveraging content already licensed by the UT Libraries, which can be accessed immediately and at no additional cost to students.

If you are interested in discussing the best options for your course, please contact your subject liaison librarian. You can identify your liaison by searching by subject here.
