Laser Cutter Information

The Foundry has the Dremel LC 40 laser cutter and the Glowforge Pro laser cutter:

Laser cutters are a great option for engraving, etching, or scoring objects as well as cutting out shapes. Patrons have used the cutters to make wooden earrings; wooden fans; photo engravings; paper stencils; and etched leather and denim.

Dremel LC 40
This laser cutter does not require an online account but requires manual focusing. You can control speed, heat, and depth with the Dremel whereas the Glowforge only lets you adjust power and speed.
Glowforge Pro
The Glowforge Pro requires an online account to use. That said, the machine can auto-focus and the program has a useful layer view.
