Born Viktor Khlebnikov, but better know by his pen name Velimir Khlebnikov. Khlebnikov was a Russian poet and playwright and a central part of the Russian Futurist movement. He is well known for works such as "Incantation by Laughter", “Ka”, and his epic Zangezi.
Vladimir Mayakovsky was a Soviet poet, playwright, artist and actor who was a leading figure in the Russian Futurist movement. He was among the signers of the Futurist manifesto A Slap in the Face of Public Taste (1913), and is known for such poems as "A Cloud in Trousers" (1915) and "The Backbone Flute" (1916) as well as the play The Bedbug (1929).
Together with Velimir Khlebnikov, Aleksei Kruchenykh is considered the inventor of zaum. Kruchyonykh wrote the libretto for the Futurist opera Victory Over the Sun, with sets provided by Kazimir Malevich. In 1916 he created his most famous book, Universal War.
David Burliuk was a Ukrainian poet, artist, publicist and book illustrator associated with the Futurist, Neo-Primitivist and Russian Futurism movements. He was the co-author of the Russian Futurist manifesto A Slap in the Face of Public Taste (1913).
Vasily Kamensky was a Russian Futurist poet, playwright, and artist, as well as one of the first Russian aviators. His work with Futurist book arts include Tango With Cows (1914) and A Trap for Judges (1910), among other works.
Osip Brik was a Russian avant garde writer and literary critic. He and his wife, Lilya Brik, were closely affiliated with Vladimir Mayakovsky.
