OpenDyslexic

OpenDyslexic is a typeface designed to increase readability for people with dyslexia.

OpenDyslexic is now available at the UT Libraries as a Chrome extension and system font on our Windows & macOS public devices.

The Chrome extension will convert most text on any webpage into the OpenDyslexic typeface.

To use the Chrome extension:

  1. Go to the upper-right area of the Chrome browser and click on the puzzle piece symbol
  2. In the following Extensions list, look for "OpenDyslexic for Chrome"

  3. Toggle the typeface on or off and select to view in standard, bold, or italic, from the drop-down menu.

To use the system font:

Open the application of your choice, such as Microsoft Excel or Word, and search for "OpenDyslexic" in the font drop-down to create your file using the typeface
