Choosing and developing a topic

Encyclopedias and what they are good for

Use these resources to gain a fuller understanding of potential topics - look for:

  • Controversies: What are people arguing about? Why do they care?
  • Stakeholders: Who is impacted by this topic? Who cares about it? Who is coming up with solutions?
  • Measurements: What data are people concerned with? How are they measuring impact?
  • Bibliographies: The easiest way to find sources is to look at Works Cited/References at the end of articles.
