Evaluating authority

You may think of 'library sources' to be 'safe spaces' as far as credibility goes, but discuss with your students who these authors are, what their backgrounds are and why they write for academic publications - who is the audience for this research? How much does it cost to produce and access? Why do academics do research and what are their findings used for?
