So how do you demonstrate a connection between your filmmaker/photographer's work and sociology like your assignment asks?

Try thinking about a social issue your filmmaker/photographer depicts (poverty, violence, war), or a group of people (the elderly, the disabled). Search those terms thinking specifically about the time period in which your photographer is working (databases allow you to limit by year).
