Finding Journal Articles

Peer-reviewed academic journals can be great sources to supplement your papers' conclusions. Use the links below to find journal articles to use as you complete your coursework and ensure that you are using viable sources.

How can I tell if a particular journal is considered peer reviewed or refereed?

  1. Go to the library database Ulrichsweb
  2. Search by the title of the journal (not the article title)
  3. If you see this icon  (think referee's jersey) then the title is considered peer reviewed

How can I tell if a particular article is peer reviewed?

Peer reviewed articles may include:

  • an abstract
  • an introduction
  • a literature review
  • methods
  • results
  • discussion
  • a conclusion
  • references
  • figures & tables

NOTE: An article may be considered scholarly, for example a conference proceeding or technical report, but you cannot assume it was peer reviewed. Need help?  Talk to a librarian!
