It's important for your paper to include substantive sources - otherwise, how will you support your claims?
Currency: For some of you more than others, very recent research is necessary. What's going on with your country today? See news page.
Authority: Who wrote this? There are many kinds of expertise - what kind of expertise does your author have? If you don't know, that may be a weak source.
Bias: Bias isn't always a bad thing. Sometimes the expertise we have comes with bias. Other times, we are influenced by our politics, our profession, affiliations and funding.
Purpose: Why was this source created? This will help you to decide how to use it in an argument. Is it current news? in depth analysis or context by a scholar? or a statistic to support a claim?
