Creating Footnotes/Work Cited

Footnote/Notes

Creating a footnote or note allows you to provide additional context for a section of your text or even cite the source of your information. Scalar enables you to create notes that function like footnotes.

Creating Footnotes/Notes

Select the section in your text where you want to add the footnote. Look for the blue icon labeled “Insert Scalar Inline Note” and click it.

You will see a list of pages/notes on the bottom left-hand side. Click on ‘Create page on-the-fly.

A page will provide a pop-up with ‘Title,’ ‘Description,’ and ‘Content.’ For the title, include the name of your note, and in the description, include your citation or additional information on the topic.
