ArcGIS allows you to create maps that are more in-depth. It will let you upload large sets of data. If you want to be more interactive/creative/detailed with your map, you will upload that on ArcGIS and it will let you link it to StoryMaps.
Your ArcGIS account will automatically connect to your StoryMaps account if you use the same email address for each account.
