Information Literacy Research or Why it Matters

Research Studies

Project Information Literacy is a national research study. Two recent reports highlight freshmen research skills and what happens to graduates once they enter the workforce.

Stanford History Education Group (SHEG) released results of a study of middle school, high school and college students and their abilities to evaluate online information for civic engagement.  The executive summary states:   "Overall, young people's ability to reason about the information on the Internet can be summed up in one word: bleak."
