Find Funding Opportunities

This guide is intended to help University of Texas at Austin faculty, staff, and students find funding opportunities.

Introduction to Funding Opportunities

Finding Funding

This guide was prepared to help members of the university community find financial support for research, travel, and other exploration.

Some background for thinking about funding:

  • Some funding is advertised and some not.
  • Government agencies supply funding but so do non-governmental agencies, associations, and foundations.
  • Government funding-databases may advertise a range of projects, from research to construction.
  • The usual model of foundation-giving requires the seeker to research foundations.

For those seeking support, the university offers resources including the Pivot database and assistance from staff of the Office of the Vice President for Research, Scholarship, & Creative Endeavors; the University Libraries; and the Texas Grants Resource Center.
