Chicana Studies

Welcome

How to Use this Guide

The Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection is one of the premier libraries in the world focused on Latin America and Latina/o Studies. This guide follows the understanding of Chicanisma/Xicanisma as a response to and separation from the more popular Feminist movement of the U.S. middle class. Chicanisma focuses on the emergence of intersectionality of race, gender, and class as a space for sisterhood and discourse. This guide points researchers to some of the best resources for general and archival research on Chicana Studies. Check the tabs on the left for relevant sources that can serve as starting points for any topic you are researching.

For a broader look at gender and women's studies, feel free to peruse the LibGuide made by our Librarian for Gender and Women's Studies, Gina Bastone,  which can be found here.
