When you find an article or book you like, check the bibliography/references. This will help you understand the evidence that the author used to support their argument. You can search on www.lib.utexas.edu or on google scholar to find the item by title/author.
You can also search the title of an article or book you like and see who has referenced it and used it as evidence for their arguments:
