UGS 302: Immigrant students in US Schools- Callahan

In-Class Activity

To do on your own while we set up breakout rooms: Open your article (you will have to log in with EID/PW/DUO) and scan it for a few minutes (read the abstract and look at the structure of the article). You won't have time to read the whole thing. See if you can identify the evidence the author used (a methods or design section would help here) and think about what type of article you're looking at. Use Google if you need to to help you find out more about the article.

To do with your group: Work together to answer the following questions.

  1. What would you call your source (or what type of source is it)? What clues helped you determine this?
  2. What evidence did the authors use to create their source? (a methods or design section would help here)
  3. Is your source appropriate to use in your annotated bibliography? Why or why not?
