Use background information from an encyclopedia to help choose a topic, in the same way you would use Wikipedia.
Oxford Handbook of Modern Russian History by Do a search for your topic in the Libraries Search Box or GoogleScholar (see the Find Articles page of the guide). Ask yourself these quesitons:
- Is there enough information my topic to write a paper? If not, make sure to try different search terms before abandoning your topic. Ask me for help!
- Is there too much information on my topic to cover in my paper? If so, think of a narrower aspect of your topic. Look back at your encyclopedia entry or scan the search results to find one and then test your topic again.
