What are Scholarly Articles?

Scholarly articles are written by researchers or experts to share the results of their original research or analysis. They are usually peer-reviewed by experts in the field prior to publishing. Search the databases below to find articles on your topic. If the article you want is not available in full text, please request it for free through Interlibrary Loan.

Produced by the American Psychological Association, PsycINFO is the world's largest resource devoted to peer-reviewed literature in psychology, behavioral sciences, and mental health.

Education Source spans all levels of education from early childhood to higher education and also includes educational specialties such as multilingual education, health education, and testing.

Sponsored by the Institute of Education Sciences of the U.S. Department of Education, ERIC is an authoritative database of indexed and full-text education literature and resources.

SocINDEX is the authoritative bibliographic database for sociology research. It offers indexed records from top sociology journals covering many related studies.

LGBTQ+ Life provides indexing and abstracts for hundreds of scholarly and popular LGBTQ+ publications, plus historically important primary sources, including monographs, magazines, and newspapers.

CINAHL indexes the top nursing and allied health literature available including nursing journals and publications from the National League for Nursing and the American Nurses Association.

Created by the United States National Library of Medicine (NLM), MEDLINE is an authoritative bibliographic database covering the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, and the preclinical sciences. Journal articles are indexed for MEDLINE using NLM's controlled vocabulary, MeSH (Medical Subject Headings).

PubMed covers the biomedicine and health fields, and related disciplines such as life sciences, behavioral sciences, chemical sciences, and bioengineering. It facilitates searching across several National Library of Medicine (NLM) literature resources including MEDLINE.

Academic Search Complete is a comprehensive scholarly, multi-disciplinary full text database.
