Information Literacy Toolkit

Students often struggle to find a topic/research question, choose the best search terms to find sources and test their topic to make sure it isn't too narrow or too broad. This assignment walks them through the process of finding and testing a topic using a Large Language Model (AI chatbot).

Learning Outcomes:

After this lesson, students will be able to:

• Use a UT-licensed large language model (LLM) to assist in generating a research topic.
• Use a UT-licensed large language model (LLM) to generate search terms (i.e., keywords) and/or search strings they can use to search for resources on their topic in a library database or other search tool.
