About the Harry Ransom Center

The Ransom Center is an internationally renowned humanities research library and museum at The University of Texas at Austin, with extensive collections in literature, photography, film, art, and the performing arts. 

Mission and Values

The Ransom Center encourages discovery, inspires creativity, and advances understanding of the humanities for a broad and diverse audience through the preservation and sharing of its extraordinary collections. Location and Hours

The Harry Ransom Center is located on The University of Texas at Austin campus at the northeast corner of Guadalupe and 21st streets (see map).

Library Reading and Viewing Room Hours

9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Saturday
