Digital Exhibition Platforms

Publishing with Digital Exhibition Platforms

Digital exhibition platforms are online repositories for managing and showcasing content from your research, portfolio, or a special collection. Many of these platforms are open source or free for academic use and the large selection of platforms means users at any level of computer knowledge can create a beautiful web presence to visualize and share their works.

Digital Exhibition Platforms

Omeka

Omeka is a digital exhibition platform available in three flavors: Omeka suits most general needs for independent users, Omeka Classic is designed for self-hosted uses and has more advanced features, and Omeka S is an update to classic with the capability to host multiple exhibits and link information between them. To learn more about which version is right for you and how to use it, visit the Omeka library guide.

ArcGIS StoryMaps

ArcGIS StoryMaps is a free mapping and visualization software from ESRI that combines graphical and text elements with an assortment of maps to connect your data with geographic information. StoryMaps can take the form of presentations or non-linear digital exhibits, and can be made more powerful by integrating ArcGIS Pro maps (available at UT Libraries). To view examples and learn how to use StoryMaps, visit our StoryMaps library guide.

CollectionBuilder
