The Scholars Lab Speaker Series

The Scholars Lab Speaker Series is an ongoing series featuring guests from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds within Digital Scholarship. Join us for the opportunity to hear from prominent voices from outside of UT and learn more about Digital Scholarship. Digital Humanities Workshop Series

This ongoing workshop series runs throughout the fall and spring semesters, presenting digital humanities tools and methods to students and faculty. View recordings of previous workshops and the schedule of upcoming workshops on the Digital Humanities Workshops guide.

Data & Donuts

Data & Donuts is workshop series organized each semester to present advice, resources, and tools to take care of your research data from project planning to preservation. You can find previous workshops and a schedule of upcoming workshops on the Data & Donuts guide.

Digital Scholarship Pedagogy Institute (DSPI)

DSPI is a 2-day program to introduce instructors to digitial scholarship tools and assist in integrating these tools into their syllabi. This event occurs annually in the August during the lead up to the fall semester. To view past agendas and register for the upcoming year, visit the DSPI library guide.

The Day of Digital Humanities

Day of Digital Humanities is an annual celebration of the scholarship of digital humanists. Held around the world, the Day of DH is celebrated at UT Austin in the Scholars Lab and usually occurs around April or March. Keep an eye on the upcoming library events calendar or sign-up for the Scholars Lab Newsletter to be notified of the next Day of DH.

Digital Scholars in Practice (DSiP)

Digital Scholars in Practice is an ongoing speaker series highlighting the works of scholars conducted with digital technologies, researching data technologies, and critically examining the use of digital methodologies. Learn more by visiting the DSIP library guide.

GIS Day

GIS Day is an annual celebration of Geographical Information Systems and the works accomplished with them. Every year, GIS Day is recognized with a poster competition, guest speakers, and technology demonstrations. The Immersive Python Workshop

Immersive Python Workshop is an annual, two-day workshop to support users of all levels hone their Python coding through practical examples. The instructors will meet you at your level, whether you are completely new to coding or feel confident in Python already. This event occurs in early January every year, with exact dates and registration made available in the fall.

The Systematic Review & Evidence Synthesis Bootcamp

Systematic Review & Evidence Synthesis Bootcamp is an annual, three-day workshop that provides first hand experience in identifying a research question and identifying the relevant publications and conversation surrounding it. Subject librarians will provide assistance as you develop your skills in performing systematic reviews of the literature, as well as introducing tools like Rayyan and SR Accelerator to facilitate your work.
