In-Class Activity

Goals from your Mini Assignment 2:

  • Know at least two scholarly databases you can use for your research
  • Learn about our very own class research page on the library system
  • Understand what a “peer-reviewed” academic article is and how it differs from other kinds of sources.
  • Be able to name at least three Geography-specific academic journals
  • Have located at least one peer-reviewed article for your own research

To Do On Your Own: Check out this example of a scholarly source. Notice the structure of the source (i.e. abstract, methodology, results, discussion, references, etc.). Refer back to this example if you are having trouble when finding & evaluating sources!
