Accessing Software During Campus Closures

For information about general Libraries services during the campus closure, please see our Library Services Continuity page.

For information about accessing the software installed in the Data Lab:

R, R Studio- Install on your own machine for free or UT staff, faculty and students can log in to the Stats App Server.

SPSS- IBM has extended the free trial for SPSS until June 15.

Stata- UT staff, faculty and students can log in to the Stats App Server.

Tableau- Students can sign up for a free license.

The PCL Data Lab is located in the Scholars Commons on the entry level of the PCL.

Data Analysis and Visualization Tools:

Nvivo- analyze qualitative data

OpenRefine- clean and manipulate data 

R- open source software package for data analysis and visualization 

SPSS- statistical package for analyzing and visualizing data and text

Stata MP- statistical package for data management, analysis, and graphics

Tableau- create interactive visualizations and information dashboards

UT Department of Statistics and Data Sciences

The UT Department of Statistics and Data Sciences offers consultations and short courses to UT staff, faculty, and students. They also offer access to statistical software packages via the Stats App Server.
