OpenRefine (formerly GoogleRefine) is an open-source tool designed for working with messy data. You can use it to clean your data and transform it between formats, a process commonly referred to as data wrangling.
OpenRefine is available in the Data Lab with the PCL Scholars Lab.
These screencasts provide a brief introduction to OpenRefine. (They were developed by Google when the program was still called GoogleRefine, but not much has changed besides the name.)
