Industry Standards

Finding Industry Standards

UT-Austin subscribes to standards from several important groups.  We have a guide here:

In your work, you may be:

  • Directed to a standard by authors or advisors.
    • A typical citation pattern is like this: ASTM F2119-24, Standard Test Method for Evaluation of MR Image Artifacts from Passive Implants as updated for 2024.
  • Looking for guidance on industry practice and need to search for related standards.  UT's standards subscriptions are in a few different databases.  For broad (that is, across lots of publishers) subject searching, these (see below) are good options.  Once you identify a standard, then you will look for the text.
    • Accuris
      • Some of our subscriptions are through Accuris and in this database, you will get direct access.
    • GlobalSpec: IHS Standards Store
      • This is the retail outlet for Accuris.
      • Our UT subscriptions are not shown in the product.
