Scalar

Before beginning with Scalar, you will need to request a "Scalar Registration Key". Fill out the form using an email associated with an academic or memory institution.

Once you have received the key you can register for an account. 

When you log into your Scalar account, you will land on a page with your books on the left and featured books on the right. In the top right of the screen select "Dashboard."

On your dashboard click on "Create new book."

A menu will pop up with fields for Title, Subtitle, and Genre.

• The Title field must be filled out, but the Subtitle is optional.
• Genre in Scalar only determines how the project is labeled and does not change any of Scalar's functionality. The Genre can be a Book, Article, or Project. 

Click "Create" when you've finished.

You can find the newly created book under the "Books" column on your Dashboard.

If you hover your mouse over the Book, you will see a "Dashboard" button appear. It contains all the options and settings for your book.
