Creating Pages

Making Pages for Your Book

Pages are the fundamental pieces of your Book that showcase the content you wish to exhibit. Pages can be laid out in a variety of ways to serve the materials being exhibited.

From any part of your book, you can click the "+ Plus" icon in the menu bar to create a new page in your Book.

The top section of Page creation has fields for "Title" and "Description", as well as a body for content. Media can be added with the second blue button from the left, which will insert media inline with the text.

  • Clicking the button, you will see a page listing all media you have uploaded. Select an image.
  • Next, you will be given options as to how to display the image.

In this example, we choose a medium size, center aligned, with name and description in the caption. We also toggled on the annotations to demonstrate how those are displayed. All these options appear as drop-down menus.

Scroll to "Save and View" in the bottom right corner.

Notice how the Title and Body are displayed.

The image will always have the caption we entered visible, but more information like annotations and metadata are available when moused over.

Using Different Page Layouts

You can find different page layout options by looking below the field where you enter content for the page.

Notice the drop down menu in the "Layout" tab under the form for page content. Click it to view the different available layouts.

We will select "Image Header." After clicking an option for the menu, the description of the layout in the Layout tab will change.

The description indicates that we need to designate a key image for the page to appear as a header. To do so, click on the "Styling" tab.

  • In the "Styling" drop down menu, select "Key Image". Another menu will appear listing all images you have uploaded.
  • Select your key image to appear as the header for the page.

Click "Save and View" to see the change the layout has made to the page.

The image now appears as a header with the page name and description. Explore different layouts to find the best way to exhibit information in your Book!
