Education Demographic and Geographic Estimates (EDGE)

  • Uses U.S. Census data to create indicators of social, economic, and housing conditions for school-age children and their parents.
  • Uses NCES & U.S. Census spatial data to create geographic locale classifications, school geocodes, school district boundaries, and other types of data to support spatial analysis.

School District Geographic Relationship Files

  • Designed to provide a set of geographic associations between school districts and other types of geographic areas including counties, Core Based Statistical Areas (CBSA), Consolidated Statistical Areas (CSA), Zip Code Tabulation Areas (ZCTA), Urban Areas, Congressional Districts (CD), places, census tracts, and census block groups
  • Based on the Census Bureau's TIGER/Line database

We work with partners across campus to connect researchers with the appropriate tools, resources, and expertise for dealing with data at every stage, from the earliest planning phase, through dissemination and archiving.
