Comparing Different Versions of Documents

Comparing Different Versions of Documents

In this section, we explore ABBYY FineReader’s Document Comparison feature, which helps us identify and review differences between two versions of a document, making it easier to track edits and proofread changes.

  1. From the main menu, select Compare Documents.

You will be prompted to upload two documents: the original document and the modified document.

Uploading Documents for Comparison

Once you have uploaded the documents, the left panel will display the original document, and the right panel will display the modified document

Reviewing Differences

Once the documents have been uploaded and processed, ABBYY FineReader will generate a list of the differences between documents as seen on the right side of the page. You will notice that each difference is linked to its location within the document. You can click and select each difference to return to that point in both documents and view the changes.

Exporting Comparison Report

To share or document the differences, click on “export” and choose from one of the available formats. Follow the prompts to name your file and select the destination on your device.
