Converting Documents to Editable Formats

Home Screen
Open ABBYY FineReader, look for the quick tasks option
Click on “open in OCR editor” or “open PDF document.”
A window will appear; look for your scanned document, select it, and click 'Open'.
File Menu
On the top menu bar, click “File” and then “Open.”
Select the file you want to open from your computer.
Drag and Drop
Drag your scanned document, image, or PDF from your desktop or folder directly into the ABBYY FineReader window.
ABBYY FineReader will automatically start processing your document.
Batch Processing
Use when uploading multiple files at once.
Use the “add files” button to select multiple documents.
OCR Language Selection
In order for the OCR software to convert text accurately, it needs to know which language or languages your document is written in. You will need to select the original language to help the OCR software more accurately recognize special characters and grammar.
You can select a Language by:
In OCR tool settings, look for "Language."
Choose the language that matches your text.
If your text is written in two or more languages, you can select multiple languages. Look for a multi-select menu and check the languages that match the text in your document.
Keep in mind that ABBYY FineReader supports over 200 languages, and it is essential for you to select the correct languages in your document, or OCR might misinterpret your text.
Review and Save Document
You can save your document in your preferred format.
