Introduction to Text Analysis for Non-English Languages
Friday, 9/8, 12:00-1:00pm
This workshop will introduce attendees to basic concepts and techniques for computational text analysis, focusing on the unique opportunities and challenges that can accompany working with materials in languages other than English. A practical, hands-on exercise using Python will follow the introductory talk.

Introduction to the Scalar Platform, a Digital Exhibition Tool
Friday, 9/22, 12:00-1:00pm
Scalar is a free, open source platform that enables users to assemble media from various sources and juxtapose them with their own writings in a variety of ways. This introductory workshop will cover the basics on how to make a digital exhibition with the platform.

Getting Connected to DH at UT
Friday, 10/6, 1:00-2:30
Meet DH practitioners from around campus and learn about the various opportunities to get involved with DH labs, interest groups, and more. This session will take place in person at the Scholars Lab in the Perry-Castañeda Library. Refreshments will be provided.
Introduction to StoryMaps
Friday, 10/13, 12:00-1:00pm
StoryMaps is a digital tool that enables you to craft a narrative using maps, images, videos, and text. This workshop session will provide an introductory overview of creating a digital exhibit with StoryMaps. Participants will learn to weave together data points, images, videos, and text to form engaging stories.

Getting Started with Omeka
Friday, 11/3, 12:00-1:00pm
Omeka is a free, open-source platform from creating digital archives, exhibitions and more. This workshop will give an overview of the various versions of Omeka and their different uses, before covering how to set up a basic Omeka site.
