The University of Texas Libraries’ (UTL) Global Studies Collections encompass resources both from and about all regions of the world outside of the United States. Over 350 languages are represented in the UTL Global Studies collections and all formats are included. Individual subsets of the UTL Global Studies Collections vary in their respective breadth and depth but all share a commonality of scholarly approach that is predicated on the geographic, linguistic and interdisciplinary orientation of knowledge that “area studies” encompasses.
UTL Global Studies materials are housed predominantly at the Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection and the Perry-Castañeda Library but are also found throughout campus libraries.
Liaisons are on staff to assist with the discovery and use of the UTL Global Studies Collections and are always eager to hear of suggestions for new additions to the collections.
